“All wars are bad. There has never been a good war.” These are the lines that always strike me when I heard of conflicts.

Anisah is living in Marawi City in Mindanao. She is an educator who never ceased to attend various trainings around the world. She was also an alumna of the Global Hiroshima Project to enhance Peace-building and Human Resource Development for the Bangsamoro Government in Mindanao (HiPEC-BM), Philippines from 2016 to 2018 in Hiroshima, Japan –program by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Hiroshima Prefecture and the Hiroshima University.

Adding to that, she is also a member of the Young Mindanao Professionals for Peace (YMPP) – an organization composed of youth aimed at promoting justice and enduring peace through the establishment of a new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Believe you me, this one impacted me the most – their organization spearheaded the “MARAWI needs your help project”, campaign allowing people around the world to extend their help and support. Yes, they helped the victims of the catastrophic Marawi siege, especially most the displaced children. So challenging it was!

Her advocacy is peace building and youth empowerment. She was also an active member of the Youth Advocate for Peace and Development and Lanao Youth for Peace and Development in the Philippines.

As of this writing, Anisah is the division youth coordinator that is mandated to train student leaders in Marawi City.

Actually, Anisah is my pair in the contingent. Haha. Promoting my buddy.

For this year’s SSEAYP, we are so much honored since there were three PYs came from Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Philippines. To the individuals behind this journey, we will be forever grateful. We hope and assure you that all of these things will never be forgotten. Arigato gozaima!

Meet Anisah P. Hadji Ali.
